Gen-lock is a sync signal for video that lets all devices march in lock step, creating video frames at the same moment in time across the array of cameras.
Gen-lock is the conductor of this camera orchestra, keeping all the frames in each camera beating in unison.
This gives you a precision moment from dozens of angles and when played back, you can view any angle at precisely the same moment from each camera.
This is perfect for 3D witness cameras, Motion Capture, Photogrammetry, Volumetric, Virtual reality, VFX, 360 array rigs, live streaming events or a cool jump edit shot.
This also allows incredible bullet time shots, as it is not only possible to make a static frozen shot, but also move back and forth through time, as well as along the array of cameras.
With frame sync accuracies of well below 1 / 10,000th of a second… Even the fastest objects are caught frozen in time.
We use production quality Z Cam E2 Cinema cameras, with 4K quality Apple ProRes, ultra sharp and bright pro Olympus lenses, all controlled from a centralised software and able to shoot up to 160 fps.
These are often used in feature films, TV and advertising due to their great colour science and rigging versatility.
