My Kingdom for a Qashqai by Irony and Frank Styles
The green land that you can see on the fly-over has been earmarked to be converted into an arts/cultural hub. Allowing artists and creatives to live and work in their own home with home studios and a community of like wise people.

There is also the infamous Pop Recs Ltd at the end of the road, who have also restored their buildings on High Street West.

NWD has bought a large piece of Sunderland City Centre land. We were turned down by all lenders as the property was not habitable and in a terrible state.
After a year of working our bits and bobs off, having covid test after covid test, working away for months at a time, we managed to save the money up and buy just over a tenth of an acre of land…. Which all went through on Tuesday the 3rd of August 2021 morning.
It is by far one of the worst buildings in the area, the last owner didn’t bother securing it for 20yrs so it has been used as a landfill by the locals filled up to 10 feet deep in every type of rubbish you can imagine. Much of it still had the address labels still on of the local businesses, as the people dumping it hadn’t the sense to remove them.
But we plan on building a huge TV and Film studio, that will be privately run and if all goes well, up and running in the next 24 months. (I’m sure that will change!)
I expect there will be a lot of back breaking labour ahead of us, that will be done by us as we physically can’t afford to pay others to help clear the land.
There will be much more released over time, but it will have 3 x floors, each being 34m x 13m in size with ceiling heights of 7m on the ground floor, 4m or so on the first floor and a full building roof terrace. More possibly depending on finance and funding, but that’s the starting point as we are looking at many other features including a virtual production LED studio.
