These converters feature full-size SDI and HDMI connections within a solid metal housing. Power is provided via USB-C, and configuration is done through the Blackmagic Converter Utility for macOS and Windows. LED indicators provide instant feedback on power and signal status. Models with bundled AC adapters are available, including four plug options for international use.

Each unit is fully configurable via free software from Blackmagic Design. Connect over USB to rename devices for identification, assign camera numbers, or switch between SDI Level A and B. These tools simplify routing and multi-camera workflows in live production settings.
3D LUT MONITORING
On-set colour accuracy made easy
The SDI to HDMI 3G variant includes support for 3D LUTs, enabling accurate colour preview directly on set. These LUTs can be applied to the SDI loop output, transforming the converter into a real-time LUT processor. Use DaVinci Resolve to create your own looks and upload them via USB. This makes it possible to turn any standard monitor or TV into a calibrated grading display.
CAMERA CONTROL
Bi-directional control between HDMI cameras and SDI switchers
With the BiDirectional SDI/HDMI 3G model, users can integrate HDMI-based Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Cameras with ATEM SDI switchers. Camera control, tally, and remote record triggers are passed through. It also works in reverse, allowing SDI cameras to be controlled via HDMI switchers like the ATEM Mini.
HDMI TIMECODE COMPATIBILITY
The updated hardware inside the 3G Micro Converters now supports HDMI and SDI timecode workflows, essential for synchronised multi-camera shoots. This ensures accurate timecode translation between HDMI devices and professional SDI environments, whether you’re working in SD or HD formats.
SDI RE-CLOCKING
Enhanced signal stability over long cable runs
The integrated re-clocking circuit regenerates SDI signals to reduce jitter and extend the usable length of cabling. This ensures clean, dependable video output even when used with degraded cables. These converters meet strict broadcast compliance standards including SMPTE 259M, 292M, 296M, 424M, and 425M.

SDI support includes: 525i59.94 NTSC, 625i50 PAL, 720p50/59.94/60, 1080p23.98/24/25/29.97/30/47.95/48/50/59.94/60, 1080PsF25/29.97/30, 1080i50/59.94/60, and 2K DCI frame rates from 23.98p to 60p.
HDMI compatibility covers the same resolutions, with support for both 3G-SDI Level A and Level B signalling.
