Sunderland is putting on a big Expo next year, so this year they are trying some tester events. We agreed to take some of our tech down to wow the public and show the youths there is cool stuff happening out of Sunderland.
“Our younger residents came along to experience cool new technologies, try out fun games and see innovative ideas from different businesses showing us what they do.
They could watch or have a go at photography, science, art, gaming, music, electric driving, food, fashion and a glimpse at future inventions and how they might change our lives.” (Expo Sunderland)

David Hockney Inspired Montage
David Hockney is a renowned British artist celebrated for his contributions to the pop art movement and his diverse body of work spanning painting, drawing, printmaking, and photography. Born in 1937, Hockney gained prominence in the 1960s for his vibrant and innovative artworks. He’s widely regarded as one of the most influential artists of the 20th century.
Among his notable contributions are his groundbreaking photo montage portraits. Hockney pioneered the use of photography as a medium for artistic expression, particularly in his series of photo collage portraits in the 1980s.
These portraits were constructed from a multitude of individual Polaroid photographs, meticulously arranged to create a cohesive and often larger-than-life image.
We wanted this to be a one shot taken and produced procedure. We had not seen anyone make a multi angled portrait montage as a Photo Booth style experiential experience, so thought we would challenge ourselves.
