We were asked just before Christmas 2008 if we could help a charity that are campaigning for new laws and regulations regarding cervical cancer.

In October 2008 a young lady called Claire Walker-Everett from Washington Tyne and Wear, passed away with cervical cancer. She left behind a 2 yr old son and her husband Colin, who has now dedicated himself to changing the laws which would have saved her life.

Cervical smear tests are now only carried out on 25yr old girl's and over, but as Claire was below this age, she was never diagnosed with the cancer. If the age limit was 18, as it is in most other countries in Europe, she would have been diagnosed and probably cured before it became a problem.

 

Colin is now running a huge campaign which has been referred to in the house of lords, had a channel 4 documentary made, and had hundreds of Press releases in all major newspapers and magazines.

We produced a website that we thought would work best for what he needed, which was to show Claire as a person and a way for anybody wanting to support Colin with a petition form that will be printed off and included in the full petition that will be given to the Government.

After 6 months of full time development wiith Vivid Image, we have just launched a huge ecommerce website, which sells vintage clothing.

From the original website I produced in 2004 with all other material such as the award winning brochures and stationary, it was time for the website to have an overhaul.

 

It now runs with a full CMS system rather than the partial system it was running on before, and has a full ecommerce system that allows items to be bought online.

www.northernallstars.co.uk was designed by the clients chosen designers, but then we were asked to build the massive bespoke Admin system that makes the whole site tick.

 

We were past the designs in a flat JPG form, and it was then up to us to build the site using the templates as a skin which kind of paste over the system we produced, like the skin over a skeleton. The design arnt maybe the style as we would have done, but that doesn't mean they arnt right. For example only 3 months after the launch, they have the BBC, Channel 4, and many other TV Networks advertising and using the site. So something must be done right....of course its our bit

The owners of Spot OnTV asked for us to spruce the website up a little. We completely ripped apart the old site, and built a new one with custom features including a "Buy now pay later" checkout function, custom templates that i have never seen done anywhere else before, and a custom HSBC payment gateway system.

Henry of Ice Sculptures LTD had been let down on many occasions by their current web developers, and asked Sub Zero Ice Art where they had had thier website produced. We took over the website, and completely rebuilt the website to have a CMS system that allowed them to upload any content or new products to show thier clients.

 

They also required some substantial SEO work, to gain as much traffic as possible. We were lucky in the domain name being such a keyword heavy name, but that isnt the whole part, so it took quite a h8uge amount of work to push the website up to number 1 in Google.

Asked for a massive site containing many hundreds or even thousands of web pages to be contained within the one site. The site would need a very complex template to work with Joomla, so one template would work for the entire site, it must be W3 compliant, and also have a multi language system to allow their resellers all over the world to show where they are.

 

The system was built by myself and then past over to their in-house team who them required training so they could take over. This was done on-site at the clients address in Manchester.

 

Even now, we still have a very good relationship between NWD and Nutriculture, often having phone calls asking for advise or just to see how things are.

SLW LTD - (Sycamore Lodge) (2006)
When the directors approached us, they had been trading for over 25 yrs as a residential home for the elderly and infirm.
We set about making a site without any type of Corporate Identity, designing that as we went along, we have now been commissioned to produce another website for them for their second Residential home and a set of brochures.
The site was produced with our Management system, allowing them to add, edit and delete pages within their site. (please also read the related Roker Hotel below)

Trimbridge (2005)
A company that manufactures and supplies a specialist tool that puts the edge on to work surface. They asked for a site that would be able to advertise and sell their product online, including all their spares. They also needed a set of special pages that allowed their resellers to log-in and set up accounts for their clients.

Spot On TV (2005)
The owners of a small electrical wholesalers in Northumberland asked for an online shop that would give them an presence on the Internet.
We produced a simple secure easily controlled site that allows them to put products online using an admin panel. It has a payment system which takes money and places it directly into their bankaccount.

Beyond Bar and Grill and Opera Piano Bar (2004)
This site was 100% built around a cms system that we produced our selves by hand. When we completed the site and visited them, the exact words i was given were, "this site is awesome" by the manager. he was very unsure about us as he had just been ripped off for about £5000 before meeting us, and we were cheaper than the last guys and a huge amount better. But not only were we cheaper we received 50% grants to pay towards this site as we are also Business link approved.
The entire site took us about 4 weeks to produce, and was ready and online within 6 weeks of meeting them. They have also left a little feedback in our testimonial section.

Sub Zero Ice Art (2004 - redesigned 2008)
The owner of Sub Zero approached New World Designs whilst their company was in the throws of conception. He asked us to produce a high quality image that oozed class and style.
So we produced a full Corporate Identity, Web Site, High Quality Brochures, and all their stationary including business cards etc.

Raich Carter Sports Center (2000 - redesigned 2008)
A site for our local sports centre with virtual tours and information. The entire site is cms driven as many of our sites are, unfortunately they cannot get control of their domain name as it is held by the city council, so we have had to make a framed site that comes form a sub directory of New World Designs.

This site is ASP coded with MS SQL back end database, it also has virtual reality, and flash animation.

Privilege Night Club (2000)
The site is powered via a database to control the CMS system. It has an editable gallery, diary, and most other content is controllable by the client through a simple editor. They had a new site produced when they were taken over.
It was commissioned by the old management, but the new management had a bar tender build a new site for them, as they wanted something more "glitzy" ill leave it up to you to decide which one is the better, Their New Site . (NOT made by us)

The site we made was produced using flash with a dynamic database built into the back end with a management system for the gallery, events, links and most other text and images on the site. The MS SQL system was linked into the flash front end using action script.

Roker Hotel, Sunderland (2000)
We produced for the old owners of The Roker Hotel a website with only the image on a business card as a direction. Unfortunately during the summer of 2005, when a larger chain bought the hotel, they had their own site produced in keeping with their own brand.
But in January 2006 the Manager of the Roker hotel that still works there, recommended New World Designs as a supplier to one of his relatives, who happens to be SLW LTD above. So we know that they were very pleased with our work, even after working with another company

Well this site took quite some making, as it has literally hundreds of pages of information, portfolio, training and resource plans, and has taken many years to build up. Many pages on here are available only to members and clients, also other pages are only available when we send direct links out. These can be for Training manuals and information and help for clients to use their site, including help for SEO (search engine optimization), Marketing and other tools.

You can see the last site which is an animated flash version here, (It will open as a new window) You will like it, as it is very fun to use, but we needed something more efficient and able to be adjusted faster :o)
