One of our clients www.airbossworld.com started to use the news creation services of Adfero, to create articles that are relevant for thier site. These are then provided to the site by an XML script (Like an RSS feed).
The problem is the XML feed expires after a few weeks, so we had to make a system which took the articles within the feed and converted them into standard Joomla Articles so they can be found be the standard Joomla search and will use the use normal SEF system you have in place.
So we created a component from scratch using the extensive experience in XML feeds with our www.joomlagooglebase.com project. This component comes as standard installer and can either be activated in 2 ways, one is by creating a cron job in a very simple way on most hosting. The other is by making a link to the component, so when you click on the link it checks the XML feed for any new articles and if so collects them and added them to the site.
You can see the component working here http://www.airbossworld.com/component/adferorss/
The administration system, has control to change how the component appears, and also has very simple controls.

To add, all you do is add the component as any other Joomla Component, then create an directory called adferorss in images/stories/adferorss (Make sure this is writable to 777)
Now enter the title of the section you want to use, is the section doesn't exist, it will be automatically created for you. Now add in the titles of the categories, which will also be automatically created. The Category titles must be as you have been provided them from adfero, as we were here

So you just type in the title as you can see i have done in the admin above, and the component will automatically recognise which categories the articles are supposed to live in and pop them in there.
The bottom options (Articles Quantity, Links Quantity, Character Quantity)Â are for the component home page.

And of course if you don't like the way we have made it look, you can always customize the very simple XHTML template and CSSÂ file, this is how it looks in Dreamweaver. It is simple tags within the XHTML, so very simple :)
